I love doing fast drawings and cutting away the detail, this scribble of Beetham Tower in Manchester was done as an experiment to move away from my graphic work yet still maintain a style of subtractionism, it's early days, as I'm still quite focused on my graphic building work at the moment, I aim to return to this style and create a series of my favourite buildings or pieces of architecture as large canvas paintings.
Drawing what I see
As an artist this stage of my work is the most exciting and enjoyable, I like to start with a few sketches and quickly draw my first impressions of the buildings I'm studying.
